JCB employees receive £750 Christmas bonus after ‘stable’ 2021

Excavator giant JCB has rewarded thousands of hard-working British employees with a £750 Christmas bonus.
The manufacturer, which has 11 factories in Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Wrexham, pays more than 6,000 employees, including agency employees who work more than 12 months.
Last year, in lieu of Christmas bonuses, JCB employees were given an extra day off on Christmas Eve to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary.
Lord Bamford, Chairman of JCB, said: “This year has been a successful one for JCB and next year the demand for our machines has been very strong. The entire team can be proud of what we have achieved in 2021 and I am delighted that we were able to reward everyone for their Christmas Hard Work Bonus.”
JCB CEO Graham McDonald added: “This year we will be producing a record number of machines and this bonus has rewarded the team’s tremendous efforts. We are still facing major production challenges due to unprecedented supply chain disruptions and we expect this to continue for the first six months of next year.”
The past 12 months have been a busy one for JCB, including the launch of the new Pothole Pro machine and the largest order in the UK.
The company also announced a £100m investment in a project to produce ultra-efficient hydrogen engines.
Toby Bell, 27, a business diploma intern at JCB’s global headquarters in the Roster, said: “Winning this award is a great motivator and a real boost. .”
Backhoe loader team leader Kevin Pixar, who lives near Derby, said: “It was amazing. Everyone in the factory was buzzing today. It will be a wonderful time for my two children at Christmas.”
